We surprised ourselves by holding this one back until the 4th week. Not sure what we were playing at, but let's not dwell on that.
Here it is, our 4th Vintage Bike of the Week.
This is how the story goes...
Originally produced as a display bike for the Gazelle factory in a special colour-scheme that was never put into production. Sure, that's no big deal... anyone could request a custom colour, but what every Tom, Dick & Harry couldn't request was a whole bunch of anodised black pantographed parts...
This is a 1979 Gazelle Champion Mondial A-Frame, completely unused in 100% original condition. After spending most of it's early life in the Gazelle factory, it's next house of residence was a museum. Quite literally a museum piece, we bought it as part of a lot; the rest of which to be revealed soon.
We seldom see anodised black Campag parts, so you can imagine our delight when we got our hands on this; the chainset, rear derailleur, brake levers, brake calipers, seatpost & aero mount shifters are not only custom anodised, but also pantographed for Gazelle.
If that's not enough, 3ttt also got in on the game with a special Mod Competizione handlebar & Record stem. It really is something quite special, and we're not just saying that as a sales pitch. We'd be happy if this stays in our own little museum forever ;)
That said, we are open to offers on this as we know it's a pricey meatball. Drop us an email at info@pedalpedlar.co.uk or give us a call on 020 3675 8003 to have a chat.
