Eddie Soens was a hugely successful coach, nurturing the talent of national and international champions and Olympians throughout his long career. During the late 1950s Eddie's son Bill started a frame-building shop in Liverpool using his father's name on the bikes, although only about 800 were built they garnered a reputation for being of very high quality.
Probably built in the early 60s (frame number 572), this touring style frame would have been equipped with bar end shifters and mudguards from new. With ample clearance and fairly relaxed angles this could be set up to be a great commuter or fast tourer. The frameset has had a repaint fairly recently with good quality lug-lining and period-correct frame decals and Reynolds 531 badges, there are some marks from use but overall it's in very nice condition for a 60 year old frame.
If you're taking part in L'Eroica or any other vintage event, this frame is of the correct age, so you won't be disqualified for being a rule breaker!
The frame's been carefully checked by one of our mechanics to confirm the alignment's correct and there's no damage to the threads. If there are any minor issues worth noting we will do so in the overview section below. Please take a good look at the detailed photos so you can see the cosmetic condition of the frame before you buy.OVERVIEW
